Morny Joy

  Dr. Morny Joy is Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Calgary. She has built an international following of scholars as she routinely travels the globe to share her expertise in the field of religion, culture and gender.Joy has published extensively on a wide range of topics, weaving together continental philosophy, philosophy of religion and feminism.In 2005, she was elected a member of the executive committee of the International Association for the History of Religions —the premier association in the world in her field.She is also a past president of the Canadian Society for the Study of Religion.In addition to numerous published papers and chapters, Dr. Joy is the author of Divine Love: Luce Irigaray, Women, Gender, and Religion (Manchester Studies in Religion, Culture and Gender, 2007). She is also the co-editor of French Feminists on Religion: A Reader (Routledge) and Religion in French feminist Thought: Critical Perspectives Routledge).  With Jeremy Carrette she has co-edited two posthumous volumes of the work of Grace Jantzen (Routledge, 2008, 2009). In 2010, she edited Continental Philosophy and Philosophy of Religion (Springer).
